The selection of students is carried out in accordance with the applicable legislation, the Regulation of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies of NKUA and the provisions of the Regulation of the Postgraduate Program.
Within the spring semester, by decision of the Assembly of the School of Dentistry of NKUA, it is decided which specializations will be offered in the next academic year and an announcement is published and posted on the School's website for the admission of postgraduate students to the Postgraduate Program. The relevant applications, along with the necessary supporting documents, are submitted to the Department Secretariat, within a deadline specified in the announcement and may be extended by decision of the School's Assembly.
The announcement indicates the maximum number of admissions per specialization as well as the year and semester of admission of new students.
The Assembly, upon recommendation of the Coordinating Committee, appoints an admissions selection committee, separate for each specialization, which consists of at least three faculty members who have undertaken teaching commitments at the Postgraduate Program

For academic qualifications obtained from foreign institutions, for which candidates do not present a certificate of recognition of academic qualifications from the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (D.O.A.T.A.P) the following procedure is followed:
The Department Assembly appoints a committee responsible for determining whether a foreign institution or a type of qualification from a foreign institution is recognized. In order for a degree to be recognized, it is necessary:
(a) that the institution is included in the list of foreign institutions, maintained and updated by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (D.O.A.T.A.P).
(b) in addition, a certificate of place of study is required, which is issued and sent by the foreign university to our School at the email address secr@dent.uoa.gr. The certificate is written based on the template available at the link https://www.doatap.gr/anagnorish/ypodeigmata-vevaioseon-topou-spoudon/
If as place of studies, or at least part of them is confirmed to be the Greek territory, the degree is not recognized, unless the part of the studies carried out in the Greek territory is at a public Higher Education Institute.
Certificates originating from abroad must bear a visa for the authenticity of the signatures in accordance with the Hague Convention (APOSTILLE stamp). For those countries that have not ratified the Hague Convention and only for them, the visa is given by the local Greek Consular Authorities. In addition, they must be translated and certified by the Translation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by a certified lawyer.
The evaluation of candidates and the selection of those admitted to the specialization of Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthodontics is based on the following criteria:

The selection is made in stages, as follows:
In the first stage, applications that do not include all the necessary supporting documents or are overdue are rejected.
In the second stage, an evaluation table is drawn up based on the criteria of the specialization "Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthodontics". Each criterion is scored on a scale of 0-100 with one decimal point and the score is multiplied by the weighting factor, and the products are added together to form the total score. The final evaluation table is limited to these candidates and includes the evaluative ranking based on all criteria.
In the event of a tie (with mathematical rounding to the decimal point), the candidates with the same score are admitted, at a rate not exceeding 10% of the maximum number of admitted candidates.
Admitted candidates must complete the registration process with the Secretariat of the Postgraduate Program within thirty (30) days from the decision of the Assembly.
In the event of non-registration of one or more students, the runners-up (if any) will be invited to register with the Postgraduate Program, based on their order in the approved evaluation table.
Any objections from the candidates must be submitted within fifteen (15) days from the decision of the Assembly, for the approval of the admission of postgraduate students to the Postgraduate Program.
