DISTINCTION FOR THE DENTAL SCHOOL OF NKUA IN THE UPDATED ELSEVIER–STANFORD DATABASE OF TOP SCIENTISTS
On September 19, 2025, Elsevier, in collaboration with Stanford University, released the latest update of its widely recognized database titled "Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators." This update brought a notable distinction to the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), with four faculty members included in the career-long impact list, and six faculty members featured in the single-year (2024) list among the top 2% of scientists globally, based on their scientific output and impact.
The evaluation is based on a composite citation metric (c-score), which considers factors such as total citations, co-citations, h-index, a weighted hm-index (adjusted for number of co-authors), and authorship position (first/last author). The ranking draws from data indexed in Scopus up to 2024 and provides insight into both lifetime scientific contributions and annual performance.
