Dr. Andreas Agouropoulos, Assistant Professor Paediatric Dentistry won the "Bright Smiles Bright Futures Award "at the 27th Congress of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD), 3-7 July 2019, Cancun, Mexico.

Assistant Professor Andreas Agouropoulos was the Grand Prize Winner of the "Bright Smiles Bright Futures Award" among contestants from 9 different countries, at the 27th Congress of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) held in Cancun Mexico, July 3-7, 2019. The work was entitled "Healthy smile, happy child": An oral health promotion program for preschool children by A. Agouropoulos, L. Papagianoulis, S. Gizani, K. Kavvadia.

The project concerned the overall work of a preventive program of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry for pre-school children in the greater area of Attica, Greece. The program has been running for 10 consecutive years, including 12,000 children and their families as well as 1000 pre-school teachers. This program, apart from its social part, led to the completion of a doctoral dissertation (A. Agouropoulos), two postgraduate dissertations, a significant number of presentations at international and Greek conferences, as well as research papers in scientific journals.
